Loller Derby
Yesterday, I went roller skating and to a roller skating "quad speed class." It was fun, but I fell frequently and epically... and always in the same spot on my left butt cheek and left wrist. Also it turns out that I am an extremely fast learner with this stuff, but it is highly difficult to get people to teach a 29-year-old lady basic skate shit like "how to go backwards."
The pain was so bad, especially in my wrist, that I almost lost it. I didn't, though, and I *did* make it through the class. The first song on ye iPod on the way home was "The Great Shipwreck of Life" by IAMX, which features the line "in the great shipwreck of life, we all fall down."
