Weekly..? something?
I still shy away from new people/communities, opting instead to tinker quietly in my metaphorical garage, and I rarely admit I actually like anything I produce.
That's a load of crap.
So, here we go again.
VEEKUN
IT HAS: A very basic move search and, at last, a Pokémon comparer once again.
Forums are also "functional", in a very liberal sense. I want to have them actually working sometime soon so I can, you know, actually communicate with people once more. Need to file ticketsssss.
The little GTS I wrote is also of some actual use now, because you can see everything uploaded to it. So you can check IVs or your secret id without any hackery or ROMs or anything illegitimate at all. Just:
- Go to the wifi settings from the game's main menu. Set your DNS server manually to 72.232.182.50. MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY SAVE IT; the 'save' and 'cancel' buttons will both quietly take you back to the menu. If you don't do this, you risk losing your Pokémon to the real GTS!
- Go to the GTS in your game, and deposit a Pokémon. Doesn't matter what you "look" for.
- It should now appear on the list on veekun.
- To get it back, just check the GTS status. (Searching and whatnot don't work.)
- Change the DNS back (probably to auto) if you intend to use the real GTS later.
I still have a lot of things that were supposed to be done by July, and a lot of it is "write a bunch of text". Long-time viewers may notice that I shy away from writing a bunch of text, because I don't think I'm very good at it. I should do some of this, soon.

You know, that art site I keep saying I'll build. At least the ideas are slowly gelling in my head.
I've been playing with it, for real, as of late. Did I mention I started over? Um yeah. Don't ask. Worth it.
Flexible and extendible file uploading should be done by the end of the night, I think. Then I'll go file or edit a bunch of tickets for what else needs doing and some sort of order. Maybe it will exist usably within a few months.
I still don't have a real name for the deployment. I don't want it to be/sound exclusively furry, I don't want to have TwoWords stuck together, I don't want something so long it needs abbreviating, and I need it to have an obvious domain name available. This is hard.

I really, really want to get veekun "done" so I can work on other things guilt-free.
In this case, "done" means "does everything the previous incarnation did without sucking". That last bit is particularly tricky, but the last couple years of my development have really been all about not sucking.
I started veekun over because I wasn't proud of it. I'm proud of what I have so far.
You can always see what I'm doing, see what I'm going to do, or come talk.
