Ship: Ellen Page/ Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Beta: Labyrinthical
A/N: based on this video and a prompt made at jglxellen on tumblr :D
Disclaimer: I am probably going to hell for writing this. So yeah...

“Ok, teach me how to juggle, Page.”
“Then come over here and learn, Gordon-Levitt.”

Joe had come over to her cozy L.A flat for the weekend, taking advantage of the small breaks in between his businesses with hitRECord. Premieres and compiling RECords have been eating up his time, not to mention his upcoming movies and projects. He enjoyed his work with his production company, absolutely revelled in the constant creative explosion his hitRECorders make. But days spent with the beautiful, tiny Canadian were always worth it.

Upon his arrival she had welcomed him with a vegan, gluten-free meal and a few snarky jokes at his expense. Seeing her cheeky grin as she offered him slices of fruit, hearing her laugh at his latest escapades, and feeling the slight brush of her hand as they ate while sharing subtle glances was more than enough for a welcome for him. Of course, it would’ve been better if she had included a hot, passionate welcome home kiss into the bargain or warmed her bed with their sweaty bodies in honour of his arrival. But he wasn’t about to demand more than what was offered, especially when they were still so new to this relationship. He couldn’t even call it a relationship yet, he wasn’t even aware it had a name. All he knew was that he enjoyed being with Ellen, like his heart was constantly wanting to burst into song or a blaze of passions whenever he thought of her or had her near.

He was sitting on her couch, sifting through the records she had stacked beside the TV. His eyes scanned the shelves and fingered a few worn books, books he knew that she had read over and over again. His eyes settles upon a familiar white cover, one of Wirrow’s illustrations gracing the cover. The copy of Tiny Book of Tiny Stories he sent her when it first came out. He smiled at how the pages were worn with dog ears. She’d read it many times, that much was obvious, and he felt his heart begin to sing at the thought of her enjoying the fruits of his, and the many hitRECorders’, labour.

He looked back at her, still sitting at the table, slicing up fruit for them to snack on while they watch a movie (“(500) Days of Summer, Joe” “Are you willing to suffer through my sappy acting while withholding your jealousy of Zooey?” “Try me, Joe. And I’m not jealous, never been that type, you know that. Plus, you’re gonna watch my baby bump and hear my snarky stylized dialogue later”). As her hands snatched a couple of oranges, he suddenly remembered a video he saw when he was trawling (stalking!) through EllenPage. Net.

“Hey, can you juggle those?” he asked suddenly. Ellen raised her head and gave him a confused look. “What?”

“Juggle those oranges, just like in your video.” He mimed her juggling act, instantly feeling like an idiot and let his hands drop, giving her his most charming smile. Recognition dawned on her face and she shook her head, laughing. “No, I’d look like an idiot.”

“Aw, come on. Do it for me.” He persisted, giving him his best puppy dog stare.
“You’d give my dogs a run for their money with that look. But I won’t, not even for you.” She deadpanned. He narrowed his eyes at her.
“Fine, teach me instead.” He said resignedly. Ellen had a thoughtful look for a moment before she favoured him with a cheeky smile. “Okay.”

-----
“No! Pass it quickly! Don’t wait for it to fall into your hands! Jesus, Joe, get your shit together!”
“I am trying, Ellen! Calm your tits!(Or I’ll calm them for you)”
“What the fuck was that hand manoeuvre? Were you imagining palming someone’s balls while you’re doing that?”
“I was imagining palming your-Of course I wasn’t imagining! It’s these damn oranges, they keep slipping!”
“Sure, blame the oranges…”

She had given him a few pointers on the proper technique of catching and passing the fruit. He did okay with two oranges but by the time he was handling three, he kept dropping them, the fruit slipping from his grasp as he awkwardly tried to pass it from one hand to another. By this time he was gnashing his teeth furiously, thinking that this wasn’t supposed to be difficult. If Ellen and her tiny (wonderful, soft, adorable, glorious, orgasm-inducing) hands can do it, then he can, too.

His eyes settled on his juggling teacher, who was looking like she was watching a funny movie instead of Joseph Gordon-Levitt learning how to juggle. She had abandoned all pretence of appearing serious and was bent over, laughing her head off as she watched his bumbling attempts at juggling. He pouted, adopting an offended look before he cracked a crooked smile. A laugh escaped his lips as he joined her, her giggles contagious.

“You seriously suck, Joe.” Ellen said, still sniggering while wiping a stray tear. “Fine, I concede. I suck. Just show me how to do it.” Said Joe, thrusting the oranges at her. She raised her eyebrow but nodded anyway, a smirk playing on her lips. She switched an orange for a grapefruit, just like in her video.

“In the name of gloating in the face of your sucky-ness, I’ll show you how the pros do it.” She declared with a flourish, giving a neat little bow before winking at him playfully. He only grinned at her, watching carefully as she proceeded to juggle the fruit with an effortless grace that he could never achieve, re-enacting the routine in her video. He was transfixed at the sight of her, the determined look on her face, the dexterity and easy grace of her small fingers passing and catching the fruits with perfect timing. She made the act look like a magic trick. In the midst of her juggling, she levelled him a look, her gaze intense, making his heart thud in his chest, before she winked at him before turning back to her juggling.

“Impressed at my skills, Joe?” He didn’t register her words for a moment, still pleasantly stunned at that look she gave him. But he regained his composure and grinned at her easily. “I’d be more impressed if you had more. Here!” He tossed another orange at her, which she narrowly caught, sending him a mocking glare.

“Too soft!” She gloated as she juggled the four fruits easily.
“Here! Have an apple or two!” He lobbed the two shiny, red apples at her, both fruits she almost dropped but caught nonetheless. “Ok,ok. You’re amazed at my prowess. I get it!” She laughed.
“Oh, I’m not done yet. Here! A few mangoes! And another orange coming your way!” He kept tossing fruits, laughing openly as she caught each one, her own laughter mingling with his.
“I’m awesome, aren’t I?”
“Well you would be if you caught this. Spongebob’s house! Try to juggle that!” And he threw a pineapple for her to catch. She swooped down to catch it but her tiny palm could not grasp it and she dropped it, along with the other fruits she was juggling. She collapsed on the carpet, overcome by an uncontrollable fit of giggles as he did the same, on his knees and clutching at his stomach as he laughed uproariously. And they lay there, her lying on her back as she laughed while he sat by her side, his grin wide and his dimples showing.

She drew in a deep breath as her laughter subsided, and she looked up at him, her gaze soft and her eyes twinkling as a ghost of a smile remained on her rosy lips. He was struck dumb at that moment, staring at her prone form on the carpet, her dark curls splayed around her in a glorious halo, and her eyes, ablaze with emotion, giving him that look.

Without thinking further, he bent over her and sealed his lips over hers, closing his eyes as his hands sought hers and entwined their fingers. God, he loved her.
He felt her lips moving softly against his and he deepened the kiss, tongue slipping past her lips and moaning as she reciprocated his actions. His hands tightened in their handhold, his body hovering above hers.

“Welcome home…” She murmured when their lips parted, her breath fanning against his lips. He smiled at her, his eyes soft as he kissed her again. “That’s what I’ve been waiting for.” He whispered against her lips as she giggled. “You should’ve told me then.”
“Let me just show you.”

------
Joe found an orange tucked inside his rucksack while he was on the plane to NY. It had a note scrawled in sharpie ink on it, in Ellen’s handwriting.

Juggling lessons were fun. Hurry back for session two.
Love,
E.
P.S. You owe me for the fruit you wasted. Pay me in cash but kisses are preferable.
He grinned down at the note and he tossed the fruit in his hand, thinking about the next juggling lesson.
