Decisions, decisions. . .

I've managed to talk myself out of buying a new 'puter immediately. Still not sure if I'm going to bother replacing the hard drive, or if 'twould be a good idea to get a laptop instead of a desktop. Considering, considering.

But I feel let down- I thought I was about to get a fun new toy. Since this is not the case, I wasn't surprised to find myself browsing toys at Staples.com, since I have a coupon that's good for only this weekend. I saw this and I fell in love.

I won't go into all the reasons it's the perfect camera for me. I've barely started looking at digital cameras, and I haven't touched this thing in real life, weighed it in my hand, hefted it for balance, etc.

It's so expensive, too. One third of a new computer, even with my coupon. Am I comfortable spending that much on an easily-stealable (dropable, breakable) thing? I dunno. For that much money (or less), I could get a spiffy bike.

A digital camera was lots of fun to have last summer. I don't use it constantly only because I realised how crappy the picture quality was (barely a thumbnail). But I loved having a lightweight thing to take along for romps.

Wish I could talk about this on a private photo geekery mailing list, but I don't have access to it currently. :( Maybe that can change Friday.
