I had a really good day today. I sorta flubbed my drug test, but it's not the kind of thing that you can sneeze on the answer sheet and just ask for a new one. See, I have this really large bladder. Or really slow kidneys. Something or other. I pee, at most, three times a day. My drug test appointment was after the morning pee but well before the after-lunch one, so I drank a lot of water. I sat there in the waiting room and drank at least ten ounces in the space of a minute or two.
The nurse drew the line and said that she only needed about that much, but I could only give about half of that! I told her that I had drunk a lot in anticipation, but she reminded me that such things take time to process. She seemed happy with the pathetic little amount, and I went back home.
Before the drug test, I had to fill out some paperwork with the nurse at Hasbro. I was all set to draw or play Tetris on my phone while I waited for her to come get me, but there was no need: the security guard's desk was covered with toys. The guard accused me of turning Darth Tater into a sissy, but all I did was remove the mask and replace it with a red nose and a sticking-out tongue. He still had his helmet, cape, and shiny red light saber.
I played with some of the Digimon and some other things I can't name. Then I went back to my parking space ("Just Visiting", of course) and drove off to the clinic for the test.
As soon as I got home, I hopped on AIM and told
spiritseeker that I was all wiggly and bored, and asked if he wanted to come to the zoo. He thought about it for a second, then ditched work (sorta . . . freelancers get to make their own hours, after all!) and headed right out. An hour and a bit later, the two of us plus Coyote were in the zoo.
Much fun was had. No Red Wolf cub cuteness, but me and Coyote have a membership again, so we can go back whenever. As long as I get to see them before they're too-cool-for-cute yearlings, I'll be happy. My head hurts, so I can't do a play-by-play of the whole day, but it was a good time.
spiritseeker's fun. Yet another Bostonian that rocks. I think when I'm living close to NYC, I'll have to pick up Boston and shake out all the awesome people, so they can live nearby.
Or, yaknow, be a frequent Fung-Wah rider. Whatever. Mmmm, my brain feels crispy. It's not desperately hot in here, but I need to find something fun I can do in our one cool room. I feel the need for lying down-ness. I think the arrows are going to have to wait for some other game, but if I feel like venturing up into the attic I might be able to find my embroidery hoop . . . that's unlikely, in the dark. I'll probably just draw.
