It's taken a lot of configurin', but at last we have a working record player. So worth it, to finally be able to listen to the two record collections that I inherited recently. I'm catching up on the music I should've been listening to as a warmup to The Lillith Fair: Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell. The generation between Eartha Kitt, Ann-Margaret, and the other crooners and Sarah MacLachlan, Tori Amos, Lisa Loeb, Sarah Brightman, and the other singers I've adored for most of my musically-aware life.
I'm ludicrously happy. And Coyote's been making good use of the records, too: he likes having more Mozart around. Of course, he could always borrow Mozart CDs from the library and suck them into Jumping Mouse via iTunes, but right now he's happy with the novelty of a record player.
The only odd thing is flipping the giant discs over. It's been a long time since I had a tape player that you had to eject the tape and turn it over, so I'm not used to only hearing music for 20 minutes at a time. With iTunes, I generally listen to music in 5 or 6 hour blocks. Ah, iTunes, you've spoiled me so.
I still can't believe it: I went up to Boston yesterday and managed to (just about, almost) FINISH a Samhain Scene 1 yesterday! Holeeee shit! AND I managed to get a NPC to convince Betty that charging into the Seelie Court with, er, pool cues blazing, wasn't such a hot idea. So I didn't have to do a major battle! Good thing, too. I was mighty fuzzy yesterday. Inside AND outside my head. I'm so grateful for Sunday. My one precious day of the week where I have nothing to do and, now, the only day of the week that I'm not working. Ugh, I'm gonna miss my Wednesdays, I got a lot of prep done then.
Anyway, I no longer have to think about Trolls and Redcaps (or ex-Redcaps). Now I can focus on Roundabout's first D/S scene, Sasha's plight, and the long-delayed Wilder plot. And then, maybe, I'll have time to sit back and think up some stories of Elutul's ancestors. If I have any brain left. I appreciate this challenge, but Soxboi has got to give me a break! I have my priorities, and Hiddenflame is rarely at the top.
