Well, today I've got a few things on my mind. One of them being how tomorrow is supposed to be "the end of the world," according the the Mayan and Aztec calendars, as well as a prediction by Nostradamus. Wonder what every ones excuse is gonna be when we all wake up on the 22nd and life is still continuing lol. NASA pretty much de-bunked all the theories. There was the theory about us being too close to the black hole outside our galaxy which would pull on our polar axis, the axis' were supposed to shift (although that does happen every once in a great while, a meteor was supposed to crash into us, the planets were supposed to align and create some catastrophic event.. they were all proven false.
What's also been on my mind... is yesterdays amendment to the NDAA (aka the National Defense Authorization Act). The NDAA was a Bill that was signed into law in late 2011, which officially took effect as of January 1st, 2012. What it essentially did was instate martial law unto the entire United States, which means that it gave the military power to arrest and detain citizens, much like a police officer. This Bill states that citizens can be arrested and detained by the military indefinitely, and with yesterdays amendment to the bill, those arrests can now come without any formal charges - and without a trial. That's right folks, indefinite detainment where you are taken from your family and friends without being arraigned in a courtroom, and without being given a trial to prove your innocence.
But it gets worse... because there are several factors that in accordance with this Bill, just make things so much more eerie. Like for one, Bills are only supposed to be voted on while the meetings are streamed live on television so all citizens know what's going on. However, there was a last-minute secret meeting that was called during night hours to vote on this Bill - and it was NOT televised. Why so much secrecy? Also making things worse, is that the detainment can be for any citizen who is even suspected of "terrorism." However, the term terrorism is very loosely used here. And what I mean by that, is that on the list of things that may deem a citizen a suspected terrorist, are things such as possessing weather-proofed ammunition, or having more than seven days worth of food in your home.
But here's the real kicker. The government has set up all these "FEMA" camps across the country, that have inward facing barbed-wire (inward keeps people in, not out), locked doors, people who won't discuss what they are or what their purposes are, and when a congressman who voted on the bill that created these facilities was asked about it, he played dumb like he didn't know what they were. So... the government has created facilities to detain citizens, and they've set up a system where they can legally do so for an indefinite amount of time, without charging a citizen with a crime. Very troublesome. I only hope that maybe there is a greater reason that I can't understand.
In other news... my roommate is driving me a little crazy lol, but I have to tread lightly with him since he's not exactly the most stable person either. I'm finding that I'm apparently a lot cleaner than I originally thought I was. It's mostly the kitchen being a mess that really gets under my skin though, and I feel like that's reasonable? Like... if you're home all day, you might as well just take out the trash instead of let it sit and stink up the apartment, right? Or... when I come home after a long day at work & just wanna make food but there's not a single clean pan for me to cook with... and the counters are sticky cause he doesn't wipe them down which I think is really gross. Also, I swearrrr he has like the dirtiest shoes/feet or something LOL cause I'll use my swiffer mop & clean the floors real good, and the very next day I'll get home from work and there's shoe-prints of dirt all over the kitchen floor. It's like... just take your damn shoes off! I told him about it the other day and he blamed it on the dirt from the carpet being tracked... uhmm... seriously? Why is it JUST when you're home then? And never before at any point in time? Lol. Ugh, messy boys.
