Memorial for my grandfather this weekend, at the coast. That was Saturday, which was also National Talk Like a Pirate Day. After we were done spreading ashes, I dressed as a pirate for dinner and drinks. It was nice to spend time as a family.
The next day we went to Shrewsbury Ren Faire, where I was a jester, which is wonderfully fun. The mood at the Shrew was kinda subdued when we arrived, and it seemed some of our favorite vendors were missing from the mix, which was a shame. But it was still kinda nice to go, if not exactly a gripping experience for the trouble of the drive. I'd never actually eaten at the faire before, I enjoyed the food and sitting and listening to some songs under the colored awnings, and we saw a few familiar faces and got some news on the con elections.
It was a reasonably good weekend for me, if part of it was a bit sad. Too bad my sister had a hard time of it cause she's been having insomnia.
