Theater, film, and television veteran Belinda Balaski began working professionally as a young child. Throughout her career, she’s found herself in several made for TV movies and After School Specials, as well as guest starring in several popular television shows and series, like Baretta, S.W.A.T., Starsky and Hutch, Hunter, How the West Was Won, and Eerie, Indiana. Her film career began with a small role in director Jack Arnold’s blaxploitation detective film, BLACK EYE (1974) with Fred Williamson. She’s worked with director Joe Dante on well over a dozen projects over the years, including some of his most well known films like PIRANHA (1978) where she played “Betsy” the camp counselor, THE HOWLING (1981) where she played Dee Wallace’s producer and friend “Terry”, GREMLINS (1984), AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON (1987), MATINEE (1993) and SMALL SOLDIERS (1998). Other films you’ll find Belinda Balaski in that all Wastelanders should know include BOBBIE JO AND THE OUTLAW (1976) with Marjoe Gortner, Lynda Carter and Jessie Vint; as a pregnant woman trying not to get eaten in Bert I. Gordon’s FOOD OF THE GODS (1976) again, with Marjoe Gortner; as Robert Carradine’s surfer girl in director Paul Bartel’s road race comedy CANNONBALL! (1976) with David Carradine, and TILL DEATH (1978) to name but a few. Belinda recently returned to feature films by taking the role of “Nadia” in Joe Dante’s segment of NIGHTMARE CINEMA (2017), which should be ready to roll by the time the Spring Show rolls around.
