I may be spending way too much time in my little Eerie, Indiana world here, but it really bugs me that I can't get a solid read on the political leanings of the Teller family. It normally wouldn't bug me, but the show makes so many political comments and I just can't tell where Marshall's dad stands. (Judging by the "Who's president?" "George Bush [Senior]." "Things are worse than I could have imagined!", etc. Imma go out on a limb and say the show's creators are fairly liberal. JUST A HUNCH.)
Mr. Teller jokes about there being no liberals in Eerie, tells Simon he'll explain what a liberal is when Simon's older, and felt betrayed by the Iran-Contra affair. I'm thinking...moderate Republican?
I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS IS BUGGING ME SO MUCH.
I think it's 'cause I just read an essay on it by someone else, but they determine that Eerie is fairly conservative and the show's creators are fairly liberal, and I'm like, "Duh. What about Marshall's daddy? SATISFY MY CURIOUSITY, PERSON WITH NO MORE AUTHORITY ON THE SUBJECT THAN I."
Also, I bought eight of the Eerie books today. Most of them for a cent each. Cost me a fair amount in shipping mind you, but I had a gift card.
This particular fandom obsession of mine? Possibly unhealthy.
