A year ago today, at about this time, I was sitting in a hospital recovery room with my sister, who had just had a baby after keeping the pregnancy hidden and subsequently given said baby up for adoption to one of the nurses that helped deliver her.
Today I am sore from carting around tables and children and giant roast pigs at my niece's first luau/princess themed birthday party yesterday. She is gorgeous and her adoptive parents asked me to be her Godmother and all is right with the world.
My life is so WEIRD sometimes, and yet, above all, very normal.
