"I gotta get organized," I only say that to myself repeatedly because travis bickles says it in taxi driver. Considering how messed up he is, his reality is too obscured to actually get organized in the socially acceptable way.

It amazes me how level headed you've become. Maybe it's been an extended transition but it feels like the actual change came after Israel. All I know is that I'm proud of you for overcoming some of the stress that used to drown you.
My main goal in life is to be pretentious. Yes, for the prestige and status but also because it's probably the best vice you could have: confidence, knowledge, diversified sense of culture. Sure, it's annoying sometimes but at least you're expanding yourself and your personality. So who cares if you become a jerk along the way (which I think you, Irina will probably avoid because you're humble) because you're acting to overcome your limits. At least you won't be dull.
