Today I went on a field trip with the 5th grade class downtown to the local library. It's amazing how much the background noise is reduced when there is a whole children's section of movies, books, and computers to occupy them (and how much noise there is otherwise!). Any right parties campaigning? I am just curious.
Sounds like you are enjoying hanging out with the kids :) Hopefully I can get my own butt into a classroom at some point... there is a lot of red tape to substitue teaching!

I've seen placards for: CDU, SPD, Linkspartei-PDS, FDP, die Gruenen and NPD. According to an article in the local paper, there are also 10 little parties running, like Die Grauen, Die Partei Bibeltreuer Christen, Die Allianz fuer Gesundheit Frieden und soziale Gerechtigkeit, Familiepartei usw. I'm definitely interested to see what the percentages will look like...there's some speculation that some of these little parties have more chance than usual. Good luck with all of that red tape! (There's significantly more of that here this time than in Freiburg when IES figured it all out for us...)
