I'm sitting on the couch in my nice, heated, modern apartment with full lights, hot water and cupboards full of food. We're watching a documentary on the Dutch nostalgia channel about the "Hongerwinter" - the winter of hunger - the Dutch experienced during the last year of the war 1944-1945. The things they did, the things they saw, the things they survived and the hunger they experienced - and we're talking about tightening our belts for the current economic downturn?
