This is a great piece. I'm really intrigued with this relationship and seeing where it goes. These are the two characters who were pulled into this world through no choice of their own. To a certain extent, Elena and Jeremy and Bonnie all choose their level of involvement. Caroline and Jeremy were both made into something not-quite-human, so it makes sense that they would form a bond on being so isolated and confused. And you captured all that very well here.

Stefan and Damon share an ominous vampire look that must be something they inherited from their father, because she can never look that serious/frustrated/amused/worried without also looking constipated (so she’s trying out her vampire looks in the mirror-she doesn’t really need to sleep as much and sometimes she gets bored).

This bit made me giggle. I love Caroline's little observations about their facial expressions and the fact that she practices in the mirror because she totally would.

She totally would! I mean, she can't need that much sleep and how else would Caroline waste away the night hours?

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked it. This is quickly becoming my new favourite pairing-I've got so much more in the planning stages right now, you wouldn't even believe it.

This one-shot was hilarious! Best lines:

Stefan’s forehead wobbles. “Damon.”
Damon’s grin only widens. “Stefan.”
She jabs a finger into her chest and glares at the both of them. “Caroline,” she growls.

And then the guy gives him this weird, bug-eyed look that goes on for way too long. Maybe it’s not just high school skirt he’s after?

Thanks for all the rave reviews today! I really enjoyed writing this fic, and this scene in particular. That opening scene in Masquerade really inspired me-we need more vampire round tables, in my opinion.
