i just want a 30k fic about rosa diaz realizing she’s in love with amy santiago and feeling horrified bc amy is like sunshine and daises and rosa hates sunshine and daisies. but then she isn’t entirely sure how to act around amy??? the other day she let amy have the last bagel in the break room just because amy had looked between the empty box and rosa’s hand with the smallest frown on her face. the way she had smiled when rosa extended the baked good toward her threw rosa so off kilter that she purposely found and yelled at scully just to feel more like herself again. i want to read about them going on a stakeout and rosa trying to convince amy of why reservoir dogs is a cinematic masterpiece and amy agreeing to watch it only if rosa gives moulin rouge! a chance and then much to rosa’s dismay they’re setting up a movie night for that saturday. and like, rosa gets to amy’s place to find the smoke alarm going off and amy is wearing sweats and fanning at the smoking oven because she tried to cook lasagna (“why?" "because i am the HOST."). and even this display of amy santiago: human disaster in action makes rosa’s stomach swoop in a really enraging way so rosa gets a little snappy with amy and tries to ignore the confused frown on amy’s face and the way she keeps glancing at rosa all throughout steve buscemi’s mr. pink explaining why he doesn’t tip. eventually rosa mutters a terse “sorry” and it’s apparently enough for amy because she settles into the couch close enough that her upper arm is just barely pressed against rosa’s.
AND THEN IDK they make out on the couch and spend the rest of the story navigating a relationship where one party is a literal ball of optimism and joy and the other could probably break someone’s arm with her index finger and rosa pretending to be annoyed that amy is the type of person to laugh during sex and amy threatening to tell everyone what a good baker rosa is if she doesn’t start cleaning her hair out of the shower drain better.
