i learned a very valuable lesson today.
Never assume that because something is posted where everyone can see it and open for comments that a comment will be welcome.
I read a lot of fanfiction -- and I do mean alot -- and most of it is pretty good and most of the writers I have read are pretty receptive to critiques. Unfortunately, and I learned this hard way, there are certain web sites which, while after actually inviting the readers to comment on various entries don't really mean it. Apparently there are unwritten rules of censorship which a reader is just supposed to know when commenting on a entry or story. On the other hand, perhaps these unwritten rules of censorship are known by the behind scenes clique behind the blog and/or website and the unsuspecting reader, not knowing of this clique, mistakenly assumes that a critque will be welcomed especially after readers were specifically invited to comment. How silly of me not to realize the existence of the clique and that its membership was closed to all but the most adoring of back clapping fangirls/guys.
Following me?
I can't blame if you aren't. Its been that kind of day. On the bright side, I did learn the above lesson and learned it the hard way. I won't be making the same mistake again.
If you run across this and feel like you want to comment, comment away. I will tell you, in advance, that I reserve my right to tell you to fuck off. It is afterall, my living room and my party.
