a friend's crazy adventure
"I had a very interesting evening crawling around in a HUGE garbage container. Don't worry guys I haven't resorted to garbage picking. Well not totally anyway.
I got a phone call from a friend this evening and she asked if I was feeling adventurous. I said NOPE, I'm tired and I need to get to bed. But she tells me this is something I will enjoy because I like to help people. Ok so that sparked my interest. She told me to throw on some old clothes, borrow my Dad's truck and pick her up....Well you know where she takes me. To the DUMP. And you know what. I had no idea it was illegal to be there after 5pm.
I was really beginning to wonder if she had been around magic markers all day.
She gets me to pull up infront of those huge garbage containers, I mean this thing was so big I could of pulled the truck into it. And then she says..Ok get in. (Yep I really thought she lost her marbles now) I mean I'm up for doing stupid things but crawling around in a garbage can is not one of them. FINALLY she tells me what we are doing.
One of the big stores closed down in a near by town and they threw away everything that didn't sell. Now I'm talking kids clothes, shoes, Jackets, toys, kitchenware, bits of furniture, OMG all kinds of things. Now you guys may be thinking ewww it was in the garbage but there was nothing at all wrong with anything. Most of the clothes were in plastic and the stuff that wasn't isn't even marked...so yep we stole from the garbage bin, 5 trips infact. Got caught on our fourth trip though....The police actually had a laugh at me. It's a small town and they all know me well. I explained that with all this stuff we could help plenty of families around here that need it and they actually helped us load up the truck
So now my garage is stuffed with stuff that we will have to go through tomorrow. I really can't wait. I wanted to do it tonight but it is bitterly cold out there. It is going to be so much fun bringing the kiddies all these toys, shoes and clothes. And there will even be goodies for the parents.
So I guess sometimes garbage picking can be fun "
