Why do I get the sinking feeling that I'll be looking at a Toxic Avenger offspring when I go on sale in Feb?

Now now, a writer's Debut Novel is a Very Special and Precious thing, and can only be given to the World once. Just lie back and think of Austen.

It may be a Frankenstein, but your description of the process amused me greatly. Hee!

And they always seem like it for the first third, then you reach the middle and realize you need to add some bolts because the head keeps falling off.

Still, great way to spend your time.

A friend of mine once described the writing process to me as "being sent to fight dragons, armed with a wiffle ball bat."

Somehow that seemed to fit in with the trend of commentary.

I think that's generally a given for most dragons. After all, if you lived for that long, wouldn't you be a little bit cynical?

Hell, I'm cynical enough in this life... I can't imagine how it'd be after hundred or thousands of years.
