My Name In Lights

Event at the Schaumburg Library went well. It's a huge library, done in rambling a prairie style that would have been nice for Oak Park to have, but unfortunately that kind of acreage is lacking without a teardown of a quarter of the downtown. There was a mix of folks interested in writing (including Barry, a student from my Harper class and his son) and fans (one who came all the way just to know if he was pronouncing "Ahn-Kha" correctly :)

Anyway, for the first time I saw my name in lights on this cute marquee they have in the "town square." Okay, it's not Broadway, but it's a start. You'll be swell, you'll be great...
There was also a cute display of dragons made by a local 4th grade class in a case. I wanted to take one home!
So many thanks to the two Amys and the one Susan for having me (and for the great piece of Tiapia at dinner) and the people who took the time to show.

.
They also had a lot of cool ALA posters on the walls. You can purchase them at the ALA store here

librarians rock!
