Summer's officially gone now...
However, I really am glad for now about it... I had probably the most care-free, worry-free, stress-free summer that I ever had, and that was a great gift. But now, it's time to get back to work, get back to making $$, and get back to accomplishing better things (like physical in shape stuff) etc..
This last weekend of summer is always full of reflections. Saturday was definitely a change from the norm because my best friend Amber got married. This was a really neat experience. 1st) I rode with Amber and Skye to the wedding which was about 50 miles away at the Glen Loch in Jamesville. 2nd) I helped set up the tables for the reception, 3rd) I crashed another weddings receiving line to find out where to plug the cd player in, 4th) I helped with the 'No See Rule' for Jeff and Amber 5th) Everybody kept asking me what to do next or what not as if I was the wedding coordinator (which I got a huge chuckle about), 6th) I told all the guests that we were starting and shtuff and to get to their seats outside, and 7th) I videotaped the wedding.
I had a complete blast!!! Didnt have too much to drink because I knew my car was still at their house and junk... So, after the wedding, I wanted to see what if anything was going on, so I went out for a bit. Met some interesting people, hung out, relaxed- and had a good time.
Yesterday, I went to Amber and Jeffs cookout. This was a more family oriented affair as the wedding recep was very small and no kids. Hung out for a bit, etc...
Was hoping to get a call from some former High School girls I knew that were in town and such, but it didnt happen... And when I called my parents there wasnt any answer which meant they probably went to the fair again!!! (Dad went 5 times this year- and walked a ton... I'm so very very proud of him)
Took a nap, had a call from Bridge and went up to her place to hang out for a bit and her friend Teresa was there with her daughter. An insane amount of fun occured. Most memborable is when Teresa starts saying "GNAP" like the Smurfs did when they turned purple... We were dying!!!
Today, I honestly havent done much yet and it's almost 3pm. I know that later I'll do trash, and get clothes ready for school and a bunch of other tasks, but I'm just not sure in which order I'd like to do them.
All in all, this summer has brought me back to a sense of knowing where my head is and where my heart is. Sure, I lost a bit on the balance side from the amount of partying I did as well as the overall lack of exercise (hence gaining the 10 more pounds), But I gained an even wider friend/acquaintance base, and being able to do good things in general.
Life is good - Now I have a phone call to attend too. Peace out!
