A man died on this bridge today. Did he admire the beauty of the view before he fell to his death? Did he fall asleep? He was going to fast for the new part of the bridge that had an s curve in it. Had he driven across the bridge so many times that he was too confident? When I first got to Oakland I drove on the freeways timidly because I didn’t know where I was going, or what to expect around the corners. Now I have graduated to the fast lanes. I wonder if he knew this was it. Did he make any exclamations?? The news reported that bridge was fine and safe for passengers after the accident. “ACCIDENT.” The loss of this life… an accident. As in oops. I am looking at the skid marks left by him…. His last impression on this world. The accident. But don’t worry everyone, the bridge is safe.
