There's Lots of Fish In Bonnavist Harbour

"We came, we saw, we conquered, and crumbled..."

So I'm back from a great weekend.

Friday night I went to Columbia to hang out with Jeremy and watch his rap performance during a church youth group party. I was the only white person there, but never once felt out of place. Everyone was so welcoming and it was a great experience. I had never been to a "black" church function before, and I had a blast. It was like colour never mattered. All that mattered was that we were all praising God and joining together to worship Him. I left the church with an amazing experience. Afterwards I and a few of the people I met and Jeremy went to Denny's. Jeremy and I didn't get back to his house until after 1 A.M. and we were extremely tired.

On Saturday morning, I got a chance to sit down with Jeremy's mother and she and I had a Q & A time before i left for Charleston. I got to Charleston at about 1 P.M. and went downtown to surprise Rebecca. Saturday night, I got to hang out with her and her family and we cleaned the church. That was the second time I helped out with the church cleaning. That night, we watched some of Godzilla with her family and she and I stayed up to watch We Were Soldiers.

On Sunday, Rebecca took me out to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. That movie was magical. I loved it. I also love the original, but Tim Burton definitely captured the darkness and the weirdness of the actual book. I really want to finish reading the book now that I've seen the new movie.

I hated leaving her on Sunday, but I had to. On the way home on Sunday night, I was stopped by a Highway Patrolman who gave me a ticket for not having the correct sticker on my license plate. So now I have to go to court to get the fine either reduced or suspended. It's a huge hassle because I have to go to Columbia to do this. Also, my court date is September 1st. That's a Thursday and I hope I don't have a test that day.
