Pain and the past
Not the world's best day. I accidently re-pierced my ear this morning as I was rushing to get ready thinking the hole still went all the way through - not even close. Now I see why you go to professionals for that kind of thing. In between curses I applied half a bottle of antiseptic solution to it since the earring I "pierced" it with was really tarnished. I think it'll be ok though. Then I went to talk to my old teachers at South Lakes which was sort of strange because the event was for alumni but for the most part the teachers seemed to only want to converse with each other. Later I fell asleep before I could get Kay out. She is an amazing dog, she's the only dog I know that hides her head back under the covers when the alarm goes off in the morning. She actually PREFERS me to take her out at like 11 am. But if you don't get her out again before it's dark out you're screwed because she can't hold it til morning but she won't leave the apartment. So that was fun...

The answering machine message
Then Dad came over because it's his birthday and we had dinner. The phone rang and I recognized the number but it was out of area and I wasn't sure who it was so we let the machine pick up. It was my grandfather. "Janet (my mom's name), this is your father, your mother is in the..." and then mom grabbed the phone and bolted to her room like a teenager. Dad and I just kind of stared at each other for a moment. Neither of us are big fans of my nana so we weren't sad or anything, I was mainly thinking of what mom would need packed if we had to go to Ohio the next morning. Things are ok though, she just had an amazingly high blood pressure so she's in the Wellness Center (ironically named since few ever move out of the wellness center. My Nana has managed to escape twice, to her dismay) for a few days.

Now I really look emo :0S
After dinner I offered to wash the dishes since Mom was a little shaken up about her phone call. I was trying to be mindful of Kaley while I was washing the knives because she chose right then to hide from my dad (trying to get her to go outside) by forcing a Kaley-sized space between me and the counter. I wasn't mindful of myself though and accidently slit half my wrist. Thankfully I caught it right before it could have caused too much damage, but never a good feeling.

Other than today though this break hasn't been half bad.
