TV post

I've been trying to sample a bit of the fall television, since there seem to be a number of shows directed at fandom. I've been a bit off WoW, so I'm wasting time in front of the tube waaaay too much.

Bionic Woman is a complete bust (pun intended) in my opinion. I can't find anything in it I really like.

Chuck has Adam Baldwin. I'll watch it contentedly, if not enthusiastically for that.

Flash Gordon is fluffy, but relatively fun. It doesn't take itself too seriously.

Heroes is my favorite show on the air at the moment, even if they don't have enough Hiro right now. The only downside is that the wide cast of characters means that each episode moves the overall plot forward at a Spiderman comic strip pace.

Journeyman has its moments. I don't like the use of "Let's lie to the wife to create tension" as a plot element. I like the actor playing the lead well enough, though, and Quantum Leap was a great show anyway.

Law and Order: Criminal Intent continues to have hits and misses. I quite like having Alicia Witt on the show, though, and I like Goren.

Reaper is very funny indeed. I don't know how they're going to keep it going with the single repeated plotline they've used for the first three episodes, but I hope they do. I find it mildly distressing, though, that the protagonists in both Chuck and Reaper blend in my mind because they both work in retail dead-end jobs and have wacky friends.

Smallville is a little like watching a car wreck that I can't turn my eyes from. I should have given up on it 2 or 3 seasons ago, but I love the way they keep introducing DC universe characters in among the heavy soap opera drama.

Stargate Atlantis is starting out weak, but I'm hoping for improvement. Spending 3 episodes on the "we may die" storyline when you know they won't is sad. However, it's got Jewel Staite in it now, and I do like the show in general.
