I'm leaving VoodooVox to work locally in the Bay Area - telecommuting as a company's designer is a tricky prospect. So... Would you or someone you know be a good person to do Voodoo's design and front-end coding? We are seeking a good web designer for hire ASAP.
The job description:
You will be the key designer at VoodooVox, responsible for all design tasks that revolve around our fast-growing suite of Web applications. A strong working knowledge of graphic design, HTML, CSS, and the particularities of design for Web applications is crucial; experience with Web 2.0 methodologies is a plus. You should have proven experience working with software developers and other team members to put together user interfaces that are both exciting and eminently useful. Typical projects range from extensions of existing applications to the creation of new ones from whole cloth. This is an opportunity to work for a well-financed company in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where everybody's opinions and creativity can and do matter.
Key responsibilities include:
* Graphic design for all VoodooVox Web applications
* User interface design for those same applications, in collaboration with other team members
* Working with Web development engineers to translate design into functioning interfaces
Key skills:
* Wizardry with Adobe Photoshop or similar graphic design programs
* Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript
* General fluency with internet technologies and Web-based software
Other plusses:
* Experience and interest in Web 2.0 approaches, methods, and technologies
* Experience and interest in Flash design work
* Experience and interest in print design work
Important personal attributes:
* Good ability to communicate and work with technical staff
* Ability to work with limited direction; self-motivated
* Friendly and excited to work as part of a fast-moving, dedicated team
* Flexible approach to project development
The company is located in North Adams, MA, in part of the MassMOCA complex. The office is light-filled, and mostly houses the tech team, who are good group to work with.
