Well, I said "hell with this noise" and spent three days of my vacation out at Pennsic. Lucky it was only a short trip, because the heat and humidity were KILLER! Also, VD's tempers were starting to wax thin, so I figured my chosen retreat on Tuesday evening was a good decision and I stuck too it. Though they tried so hard to convince me to stay a bit longer. His Grace even offered up a cot in his tent. But I knew if I stayed longer I would be losing time to work on my artwork. I dyed six scarves today. I am trying to get base colors on all of them so I can start printing and painting them. Got 18 more to go, also have a bunch of amulet bottles to finish. Weaving is just out of the question. It just is. The little loom that I had with a working mechanical shaft broke; my tapestry loom is just too slow. So weaving will have to be shelved for now.
Kutz and I celebrated our fifth anniversary today. I got him an iron cross and a coiled cobra necklace from Pennsic. Believe it or not, the guy actually used his noodle and came up with something rather thoughtful: he got me a travel mug, a really nice pink one (supports breast cancer research:) that actually fits in my cupholder and has a locking lid so it won't spill. He noticed that my other travel mugs don't fit in my holder at all. Sure, it's nothing fancy, but neither was what I got him:) Neither of us have much money to play with. And I just paid my tuition for the fall, so I REALLY don't have much money to play with:)
