Which means that I have been accepted into the Lansdale Festival of the Arts. Just waiting for my letter now to give me some more details. Lifts a weight off my shoulders...only to be replaced by the weight of now having to produce more work and design a booth, make signage and business cards, and all of the minute details of having to do an outdoor exhibition (and also making contingency displays if it rains and is moved indoors to a smaller space). BTW, my independent study starts on the 21st, and then I have another class in Summer Session 2. Yikes!
I am also getting transferred to Jenkintown as their Assistant Manager to whip that crew into shape and possibly become that Store's Manager further down the line. They are going to hate me...no cell phones on the sales floor, no magazine reading except on your break, to-do lists, constant sales coaching, no unexcused lateness without documentation in their files...yep, it's going to be tough because the J-town crew is full of slackers. I was trained well, and they're going to be feeling it:) My first day there is June 3rd. Though the way it is sounding it might only be a few months away until I have the opportunity to become that Store's Manager. Is it what I really want? No. I want to be a teacher. But I have to develop the opportunities I have right now instead of staying stuck in limbo at North Wales Pearle waiting for a school district to hire me. It would be nice to make $30,000 a year. It would make paying for school a whole lot easier. I am still going to keep going to school, though I might have to start the Reading portion by taking whatever they have available online so I can fit it into my schedule. The ESL should be done in December, and then we'll see what happens from there.
Or, pigs might fly and I could get hired as an Art teacher somewhere and have to tell Luxottica what to do with themselves;) Yep, my resignation will be scrawled in spray paint across the parking lot when that day comes:)
Oh, and I planted some more herbs and they are already sprouting! Yay! My second batch of mint still isn't, but maybe they are underachievers. That lavender, sage, and oregano are just springing out of the soil, though! Woo hoo! And the sage that I transplanted earlier has already started growing some nice sage-ish leaves:)
