Tried catching up on flist, but it will only let me go 300 back. :< I know I am further behind on LJ and email but I just can't be bothered to check it yet. Ughhh, so tired.
So, Mom sent me this forward from her sister.

'Why not? Hell, in this country men are pulled over
everyday just cause they're black; passed over
for promotions just cause they're black; considered to be
criminals just cause they're black; and there are going
to be thousands of you who won't be voting for him just
because he's black! However, you do not seem to have a
problem with that! This country was built with the sweat and
whip off the black slaves' back, and now a descendent of
those same slaves has a chance to lead the same country,
where we weren't even considered to be people, where we
weren't allowed to be educated, drink from the same water
fountains, eat in the same restaurants, or even vote. So yes!
I'm going to vote for him! But it's not just because
he's black, but because he is hope, he is change, and he
now allows me to understand when my grandson says that he
wants to be president when he grows up, it is not a fairy
tale but a short term goal. He now sees, understands and
knows that he can achieve, withstand and do
ANYTHING just because he's black!'
I didn't quite have the heart to tell Mom that I am a heathen disaffected surburban ex-pat generation x/y-er who doesn't have this sort of (read: any) hope or passion for the future/country/race/whatever. ...Well, I sortof did, but then I felt bad afterwards.

So, Rachel and I are going to make a doujinshi for Super Comic City Osaka in January. I have no idea when or how since I have been having troubles even picking up a pencil much less drawing something vaguely shaped like anything real with it, but that is the plan... It will be quite ridiculous and that at least makes me feel better about it. I am just having trouble being excited because...tired.
Tomorrow, going with Ami to see a bellydancing show and then to onsen~ My aching muscles crave being boiled alive /old person ...Of course, this means I should probably get some rest and all, I think I am coming down with something...urgh.
