Woke up today to go sewing...my first real steps into the dark depths of cosplay, something I have heretofore avoided, despite my many years of geekdom. Eda, Jamie and I are going to appear at the con in Hyoutei spring uniforms, which, I figured, if nothing else would leave me with a nice pair of (ugly!) plaid pants that would perfectly fit, since I had made them. But I forgot that I am not really good at sewing, especially by hand, and I have the sneaking suspicion that not only do my plaid bits not match up from front to back, but that any attempt at actually WEARING these pants would end up with me looking more like the Incredible Hulk than an (admittedly hulking) Japanese schoolboy. W-we shall see, I still have the better part of the sewing to go, though I am sorely tempted to just wait until I get home and use Mom's sewing machine... That assumes that Mom knows where her sewing machine IS, however. (She's lost her playstation...)
Then, on the way home, I arrived at Meidaimae to find that my bicycle had been replaced by a bunch of drunken college students. Apparently today was tow bikes day. Granted, my bike kinda sucked, but it was mine, and it got me to work and back, and I've put a lot of money into it--replacing the tires (after I completely deflated them by accident) and the headlight multiple times...and I'd finally gotten another sun visor and bungee cord after feeling burned when my last set was taken away when my last bike was towed... ;o; It's Sunday! Who the hell tows bikes on Sundays??? The bike retrieval place is far away on a line I do not live near, meaning I'd not only have to buy a 3500 ransom for my shitty bike, but I'd have to ride it back from who-knows-where-far-away-land. Boo to that... I attempted to drown my sorrows in donuts, but, for the icing on the failcake, Mr. Donuts was closed. It was kind of like being cockslapped by that pon-de-ring lion, except without the sugary aftertaste.
** Later on, achaknimu gave me some pizza, which was awesome, but that didn't really fit with the BAWWW of the rest of the entry, sorry
