Fluvial Geomorphology Fieldwork: Whakatiwai Stream
Got up around 720am and then got changed and ready, and headed for the bus stop around 740am something, and completely forgotten that the buses run on 30min intervals on weekends, so the bus never came until around 815am (the bus for the trip leaves at 830am sharp)... so it was mad rush XD thank God the bus arrived around 825am and I pretty much ran towards the pickup point and like 'gang gang hao' made it, so I got there, said hi to Sumeet and then the lecturer went "ok let's go" XDXD!! What a timing...
The bus ride was long about an hour... and we finally got there, got briefed... briefing was quite lol, Gary was talking about how some people on yesterday's work did quite ok and stuff:
"So today's standards would be the same as yesterday's, I will go around and check on how each group is doing, 'Yeah, that looks great, but start again' so be professional and do your skill sets properly or I will make you do them again."
... and something else XD
"There are electric fences, and they ARE on... some of the tutors got shocked yesterday, they were pushing the car and it touched the fence, so everyone who were pushing the car received a bit of a shock - I think that was a bit of a crackup, but reminder, make sure you don't touch them."
Then we walked through a field of cow dung =.= then got our instruments and stuff, then it started to rain for a bit... but not for long. So for the duration of the whole day it didn't rain much and our data collected didn't get wet, so thank God again ^^
We did a lot of stuff today and learned a lot of skills needed for our final year (3rd year) papers for next year, so that's a good thing. We also made new groupies and stuff so yeah, was kinda fun... but at the end of the day everyone was knackered...
Stepped on huge as cow poo after we finished. Now that wasn't cool =.=
Anyways, finished all 5 skill sets and then headed to the bus pickup point around 330pm and finally left around 4ish... long bus ride again and finally got back to uni around 6pm. Waited for the bus in city and that took quite a while to get there... finally got on and got to parents, had dinner leftover and then mucked around, washed my shoes and then headed back. Showered, and stuff.

Well, that pretty much concludes my weekend of fieldwork trips ... come next week, holidays baby!! XDXD
