Yule dinner

Yesterday John, Aidric, and I went to the Coven's Yule dinner at the Cafe Alex. That was a fun time. I got to meet coven members I havent met before which was nice and the food and atmosphere was awesome. We had a cheese ball with pepper jelly, praline baked brie, vegetable potstickers, and garlicky escargot and mushrooms for appetizers. John could not figure out for the life of him what the green was in the salad. It was dandelion leaves and it had bleu cheese on top...MMMM! For the entree, I had the macadamia crusted halibut with curry sauce and John had the angus steak with a chili coffee rub. He didnt like the rub but I did. Kathy and Charles are friends with Alex, the owner, so we got to try some of her truffles from a catering she was doing the next day. And for desert, I had the eggnog creme brulee and John had the peanut butter pie. It was hard to decide between the creme brulee and the peppermint mousse! It was all sooooooo good and Kathy and Charles took care of everything! They are such sweet people and I really feel like I belong with them. I'm going to be sad when we leave in about four months which I havent written about yet....

John is not going back to Iraq now. He needed help with some issues and went in to the mental health clinic in town. He ended up in the hospital for a while and now the Army doesnt want him. We both are pretty happy about going home soon but like I said, I'll be sad to leave my friends I've made here. Hopefully I can find a coven back in North Dakota. That will be a toughy.
