One of the small indulgences I purchased recently was a selection of moisturizing hand soaps from Bath & Body Works. For years my sister's been getting her stuff there, and I would secretly covet it when I was at her house, but I thought it was just ridiculous to spend that much money on something as basic as soap, (especially with four kids around). But she brought her fancy soaps with her when she came to live here, and I got spoiled. When those little things make an impact on every day, you realize it makes all the sense in the world to spend that much on something as basic as soap. So now I have Kitchen Lemon moisturizing anti-bacterial soap in my kitchen, and the same in Sea Island Cotton in the bathroom. And though I'm not much of a perfume-wearer, I also picked up a couple of nice body mists, so now I smell pretty nice even if I haven't just washed my hands.
In other news, I am enjoying a breakfast of leftover French bread, an organic banana, and iced pomegranate green tea. I have sweet potatoes in the oven, in preparation for sweet potato pie. And I am going to make lentil soup a little later on. Which I will serve with grilled swiss cheese sandwiches, with thyme, onion, and baby portobello mushrooms, on rye. Because lentil soup, while delicious, is far too healthy on its own. My other plans for the day include laundry and yet more dusting, getting a new quote on our auto insurance, and signing a new lease on our apartment.
