The day started out a bit rough. I didn't end up seeing my mom, because this is the first Mother's Day since my grandmother passed away and she didn't feel like "being social." And Jenn was also bummed. So we went to SubMarina, and then to TJ Maxx; she's in search of a maxi dress to wear to Vegas in a couple of weeks. I bought her a scarf with a black, white, and gold pixel pattern, (because I firmly believe that anyone with a wardrobe of basic professional pieces can and should make use of scarves to add color and interest), and she bought me a pair of very Laurel-esque heels.
These are the ones, but mine are bronze and taupe. We didn't find the miracle maxi, but we had fun looking. Also, I got a new pair of black flats and some sunglasses. Our moods were much improved!
We picked up pizzas on the way home, and met Jimmy at the door as he and the kids returned from the pool, pink from the sun and smiling.
Happy Mother's Day to all!
