Life is what you make of it. Yeah.

I was doing so well with posting semi-regularly there for awhile. Then I got laryngitis of the fingers and couldn't think of anything even faintly amusing to say. Well. Partly because all my creative energies have been turned toward this writing endeavor I'm taking seriously again after ... five years? Lord-a-mercy, when did I get this old?

Speaking of things that haven't been taken seriously since five years ago, instead of eating ham and hunting eggs, I went to the Ren Faire in Irwindale this weekend with Jimmy, Jenn and Nora. The mood there was unusually subdued, but it was still Faire. I was surprised and encouraged that Jimmy finally agreed to go. When we first started dating, he wanted no part of it, saying he didn't want to deal with me being ogled by other guys, etc. (The geek factor was also excessive in his judgement, and he greatly feared being asked to dress up, which we did not. This time). After this weekend, I had the realization that back then he was probably more afraid of me getting mad at him for ogling other chicks. But since we are an old, "married" couple now and he knows I am above such petty concerns, he was willing to go and enjoy the eye candy.

Subsequently, we have a hypothetical deal concerning bellydancing lessons for me and a pirate costume for him.
