Who is the boss of you? Me! I am the boss of you!

One of the guards I work with always runs to two pages on her Daily Activity Reports, and the first page is always labelled "1 of 2" and the second one is always labelled "2 of 1." I have another guard who writes things like "apeers" and "wharehouse" and "booies" (buoys) on his DARs. I think from these examples we can easily see how I managed to ( Read more... )

I bet she would, if I went over it slowly enough. But it is a quasi-New Year's resolution of mine to try and avoid embarassing people by correcting them on stuff like this. I just squelch my inner critic, smile, and move on.

You know, the higher I move in tech companies the more I've seen engineers make those same types of mistakes. I'm still a total snot about it (internally, at least) but it has made me reassess a few things about my general snottiness. Also, I seem to be making at least one glaring error in every email I write. No matter how much I edit, if I re-read it after someone has responded there is something stoooopid wrong with it.

Do you have any idea what the disposition of your carcass will be on the 27th? It looks like that will be the best day to head south, and I can work around whatever your work schedule might be.

This is me and, like, every single LJ post I've made, ever. I sometimes have to squelch the urge to edit entries that are years old. "But nowI know how to say what I meant!"

Right now, I have no plans for the 27th. That's a Thursday, right? Well, I'll be getting off work at 0600 and usually sleep until 1500 or so, but I can get up earlier if I have good reason. (You count as good reason). I will have to head off to work around 2130, (forgive the military time, but I assume you are fluent and it kind of helps to think in it when it comes to this graveyard nonsense). I am in Temecula now, which is not Hotel Del or Paola-adjacent, but if you can modify your no-doubt lofty expectations based on the decadent excess of the last two years, you're more than welcome.

Coolness. Why don't we plan for an early-but-longish dinner that evening? I can aim to get to Temecula between 4 and 5, and finishing up and heading back around 9 would enable me to be back in Fountain Valley at a reasonable hour.
