Weather.com says it's 50 degrees outside right now. Oh, I'm so happy!
The autumnal chill in the air is not all the reason why. Most of the reason why is that I've had two exceptionally happy days in a row. Yesterday I spent the morning with my dear friend, Erin, (who is usually in South Carolina and will soon be in Germany - for three to five years), and her two charming children, (ages 3.5 and 16 months), and then in the afternoon we went wine-tasting and shopping at Trader Joe's. Then my sweetie came home and we went to the best Chinese buffet and then to see Stardust. The late evening was spent in a shared quiet repose that transitioned seamlessly into sleep.
Today we got some needful things at IKEA, then met up with Erin again, and an unprecedented number of our old group of friends. It's been about seven years since we had all these people in the same room. We played a silly card game called Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot. It was a blast from the past in the best possible way. The party broke up around 10 p.m., but we went back with our friends devjannz and antika355 to their place to hang out. It was around 1 a.m. when we finally left to head home. Look, Ma, I have a social life!
And to top it all off, it's snuggling weather. There's very little that could make me happier, in this moment.
