I got further clarification on the whole pie thing. Jimmy admitted that he *told* this particular co-worker that I was going to be a pie-making machine this year, and that amongst other things that he knew of, I was planning to make a mince pie. This co-worker, let's call him "Jaime," (his real name), had tried the sweet potato pie that Jimmy ( Read more... )

No offense. But, you really screwed up with this mince(meat) pie idea.

The proper way to make it would have been to not mention the payment idea at all on Live Journal. Just say that you were REALLY craving one. And, when JavaMaven offers to make it you thank her profusely and take her up on the offer. When she brings her pie down you quickly send it to Jamie and get your pie money. Noone is the wiser.

I am laughing my ass of at that, and feeling equally guilty for laughing. Evil!

By the way, I made the Jezebel sauce and it tastes a little strange to me. Granted, I've never had it before, but I'm mainly tasting the mustard. Is that the way it's supposed to taste?

By the time Thursday gets here the flavors will have melded a bit, and you'll really get the hit of horseradish and cranberries. Jezebel sauce isn't something I'd ever just eat a forkful of, but with a bite of meat it is divine.

Did I mention to you the latest fun? My aunt served my mom with a notice saying she has to have all her stuff out of my grandparents' house by December 4th, and it cannot be relocated to any other property owned by my grandparents. And that on December 5th my grandparents, or "their representatives," (this would be my aunt and her husband, no doubt), will dispose of whatever's still in there in whatever manner they deem fit.

I agree that shit's gone too far over there, but did she have to do this RIGHT BEFORE A MAJOR HOLIDAY? I found out because she called and told me that my mom was pretty pissed at her and she was wondering if I thought she and Steve should still come to Thanksgiving.

My first hosting of Thanksgiving is warming up to be the BEST EVER.

I'm just wonder if, after all this preparation, anybody's actually going to come.

I wondered if the flavor would change with time. Well, then, I shall await developments.

But I *want* to make the pie!

And I'm not actually planning on charging the guy. I am curious, though, how much he was going to offer.

I see it at the local superstore not infrequently this time of year. It's the damnedest thing.
