The highest highs and the lowest lows ...

Two weeks in a row, Alex has gotten the highest score in her class on her weekly math homework, then failed her math test. She makes very simple errors on the tests, mostly clerical in nature. I try to reinforce that in order to do well, she needs to slow down and double-check her answers. If she would just do this, clearly she would be a force to be reckoned with!

She's doing a lot better in reading. This week she got a Ready Reader achievement certificate for exceeding her reading goals for a full month. Guess where that's going? Right in the "Alex" folder, to be presented if the judge asks for proof of the positive impact our parenting is having on the kids. After this year, I don't think anyone will be able to deny it!
