*wince*

Rachel just woke up, and she was warm so I took her temperature. It's 102.1. I gave her a dose of fever reducer and a glass of water. She looked up at me and felt her own forehead and said, "Something's wrong. The noise makes my head hurt." In a completely quiet room.

I'm a bit concerned.

ETA: Their mother just brought the youngest and dropped her off here as well, saying she was sick and had never been to the daycare as we thought earlier, but had been to a different doctor with her aunt. H'okay. Apparently she needs all the same medicines as Rachel, though she seems fine aside from a cough. For that, I gave her the cough medicine that we already had here. Ericka also said that James will need to take Claritin-D every night before bed from now on, and something in a nasal inhaler to get rid of his current illness. Que? *sigh*

A closer examination of the bag o' medicines reveals two different types of inhaled medications along with a gas mask looking thing for administering them, something with writing in Spanish only, OTC children's fever reducer, OTC children's allergy medicine, and antibiotics. Quite a grab bag!

Here's what Babelfish has to say about the Spanish instructions on the one medicine:

For the lightening of sintomas associated with the resfriado one common and to facilitate the expulsion of flemas in sufferings in where there is increase of flemas which they make difficult the breathing.

Adults and ninos with weight greater to 30 kg a teaspoon every 12 hours. Ninios with weight smaller to 30 kg or greater of 6 anuses, average teaspoon every 12 hours. Ninos with weight greater to 9 kg or greater of 1 anus, to administar 1,25 mililiter every 12 hours.

Oh, yes, I feel much better, knowing that.

Selah just came sprinting in here to inform me that James is not resting. Because he's watching TV. I'm sure the irony of this sort of thing will not become apparent to her for some years yet to come.
