Edward closed his eyes. The darkness in the room was a little overwhelming, and he was sure the clock was giving him a headache. It was close to 3am.
He opened his eyes and looked at the sleeping form next to him, peaceful in the suffocating darkness.
Tick… tock… tick… tock…
As carefully as he could, he stroked the loose hair away from Bella’s brow. A small sigh escaped her lips before she rolled closer to his cold body. The clock continued turning, signalling that eternity with her was moving ever closer. He was truly happy.
