Dragon Con

Just spent the weekend at Dragon*Con, figured worthwhile enough to LiveJournal about. Was a lot of fun and productive but I realized how spoiled I am with Convergence and Whitby where I know everyone. I knew no one at Dragoncon and was hard to meet new people since most people there were in their established groups and a single guy trying to ingratiate himself could be perceived as creepy. I had some good conversations but never really cliqued with anyone.

A girl came to the booth I was working at (I was working as a vendor) and acted like she knew me. This happens to me a lot since my memory is horrid, they will remember me but I will have no earthly clue who they are. Since I was alone at the booth I couldn't really talk to her other than the odd word here and there so she eventually left. I spent the rest of the weekend trying to catch up with her but of course never did. Business wise the weekend went great, but in the future I will make a more concerted effort to arrange meeting people in advance so not the lone guy at the con.
