Question for the linguists in my f-list

I was reading over something I wrote some time ago, and I found this sentence:

"It was a cold February morning..."

Looking over it, I almost inmediately put in a comma after "cold", but now I'm left wondering if that is correct. I mean, does "February" function as another adjective I'm ennumerating, or is it simply modifying the word "morning" (essentially functioning as a "February-Morning", as opposed to any kind of "morning in February"), and thus doesn't need to be separated with a comma from "cold"?

Basically:

"It was a cold February morning..."

or

"It was a cold, February morning..."

?

personal, writing, random
