Typhoid Mary

I only have a little bit of time to write. I'm in a Twi lecture. Twi is the language spoken by 49% of the population in Ghana.

I was planning on posting photos but that'll have to wait until next time because I forgot my adaptor and haven't uploaded them. And...there's only wireless at the academic center, which is 5 minutes away from our residence (read: palace).

Developments:
-I met the deputy chief of mission from the US embassy who has convinced me to take the foreign service exam before I leave here.
-I'm heading over to the Italian embassy in a few days to start the process of getting dual citizenship!
-I'm trying to find out how I can get involved in that excavation class. I won't be able to go until Monday, when registration begins. But I am very excited because it's lead by the head of the department.
-Grad school in Ghana = a possibility
-I'm also looking in to working at the museum of archaeology here
-I start volunteering with ARK or WAAF soon.
-I'm taking a class at the NYU center which, the professor says, invloves overnight stays in faraway villages.
-I'm getting a cell phone. I'll put the number up when I do. Got it. My number, including the country code and such, is 011 233 24 2259631.
-A few of us are trying to plan trips for weekends and Spring Break. All of West Africa is game.

Ghana, right now, is smiles, heat, laughter, bug bites, red soil, wonderful people, and endless opportunities.

I'll be sure to post more soon with photos and detail.
