I'm Still Here
Yep. It's been a long time. I guess when there not a lot of huge things going on in one's life, blogging becomes redundant. I've taken in interest in Flickr and in many respects, consider that more an online community then LJ. Also, I've been messing around with Joomla!, learning some CSS, and hope to build a template/blog site in the near future. I'm also developing an in-house intranet form my company using the same software, so that will make it easier. Honestly, if you are into web design you should check Joomla out.
So I'm full time with CIRI. What a great company, everyone in the organization is nice, the pay is nice, the benefits are nice, and the hours are nice. We even get Christmas present and bonuses! But what makes this job so awesome is the ability to "do my own job" without micro-managers. I'm the desktop guy, but I'm also dabbling in servers (I built and now manage the WSUS server) I know, not a big deal, but it's my first "real" server so I'm proud of it. I'm slowly learning networking, but I think I'll need a class for that!
Just as my job is getting exciting, Monica's is starting to drain her. I feel bad and wish I could just tell her boss how much of an unfair burden they throw on her, but I can't. She's the hardest worker I've ever met, and it's not fair that every waking moment she's thinking about that stupid place. I hope things improve there.
There's been some family drama which I will reserve for more offline activities, but needless to say, parts of my family are crazy. We were actually thinking about going to California for Christmas, but with tickets at around $800 for the last couple of months, I don't see that happening.
That's about it. I'll try and throw some photos up of our fully-grown pup, maybe some of the fruits of my labor on the house... who knows!
