A new floor to pee on
What a weekend! We have been planning on hitting the bathroom hard and try to make a noticeable change. This weekend has shown me again something new about home improvement. It’s the thankless/tedious jobs that really don’t do much cosmetically. i.e. dry walling (making sure it’s close to perfect), plumbing, wiring, etc. But spend a fraction of the time making a couple of cuts and snapping in a couple of boards and you completely transform a room. We added wood laminate throughout the bathroom. Previously there were two types of linoleum on the floor. We also put in a new toilet, an endeavor that took way longer than it should have. Actually, I am still extremely hesitant that it’s on right. That’s one thing I am determined to get right!
But bathroom repair is honestly boring stuff. You don’t care about that. So, on to more exciting news. Monica and I got a puppy. His name is Magnum. I know, I know… Magnum? We thought about it a bit, and only had a couple of ideas. When we picked him up all of his previous foster parents had called him something different. His last name was Puddles, not nearly man enough! So, he’s got a Hawaiian collar and the chicks dig him… Magnum! He 9 weeks old and looks like a mini Rottweiler although they say he’s a sheep herder type dog (border collie size). He’s really fun but pees everywhere… now we understand his former name. So our time has been spent watching him like a hawk while working. Monica will put a piece in the floor while I watch the dog, then she’ll watch him while I cut a new piece to size.
I’d be showing pictures of Magnum and our bathroom, but someone stole my camera on the ship. But don’t worry, I’ll get one soon. Can’t take that Flickr Pro account for granted. Any suggestions for a guy on a budget?
