One Step Away

So today I got my first "Hooah" from a Sergeant Major. Now, as a civilian working for the government I don't know the protocol here. I'm hoping "Jump Master Mark" would be able to field this one. Is it in bad taste not to say anything back, or am I expected to give a "hooah" in return? This time I kept my mouth shut. I guess it caught me off guard, and cracked me up a little too. But I know better than to laugh at a SGM, at least not to his face. ;-)

Today we had our follow-up inspection. These sellers did a serious cut-rate job of repairs and even failed to fix the toilet. You know, the measure of a man is keeping his word. The sellers didn't do what they signed in the contract. I will acquiesce because a $15 flush valve is not worth pitching a fit over. Although it tells me a little bit about these sellers. My agent says they are upset with their agent because they think they could have got a lot more for their house. Which is true, Monica and I have already made money on the place and we haven't even moved in yet. But they signed in good faith, and they know the buying process. They have no one to blame and taking it out on the people offering to buy their house is just sad. We close Thursday and I'll be glad once the Herbie Hancock is on the documents and we're moving in. It's amazing to think I'll be a homeowner in a week.

During lunch I turned in my passport forms. I had to raise the right hand and swear that everything was filed out truthfully. All these people in the 5th Ave Mall post office were looking at me funny. I felt like I was being naturalized or something. haha.

house, work
