Ok, I spent about 2 hours on Tuesday and about 6 hours today and finally finished my kids costume (Btw, thanks to
mad_m community.livejournal.com/sew_hip/2165981.html#cutid1 for the inspiration). She's well under 2 btw...
I need to make some adjustments. I need to remove the swan and attach it with press studs so she can take the swan off if she needs to. Also, she keeps pulling the feathers. I couldn't find a tan bodysuit anywhere (we found the perfect coloured long sleeved shirt in the boys section but it was part of an ugly outfit that was $24). So she'll be wearing pink leggings and a pink long sleeved shirt. Hopefully it'll not be too cold so people can see it. I have a feeling that not many people will get it though.
The skirt has about 10 or more layers of alternating crinoline like tulle and some soft net . Here's a shot of the skirt while I was sewing it. Probably not the best way to do things:
