Inventory of today's omens thus far:
Lady at the store pointed out my passenger rear tire was almost flat: Good and bad omen both. Bad because hey, flat tire. Good because a total stranger was nice enough to tell me.
Did not forget anything at the grocery store that I know of: Good omen
Did not spend near as much as I thought I had: Good omen
Got grinned at by adorable small blond child: Good omen
Gas station across the street from the store had air: Good omen
Nail in my tire made a hole so big I could hear the air hissing out as I was adding it: Bad omen
It is Sunday, and I need a flat fixed: Bad omen
Small locally-owned tire place is miraculously open on a Sunday: Good omen!
Dollar Store is selling High School Musical hand sanitizer: Bad, BAD omen. BAD. SHAME ON YOU, MARKETING WORLD. SHAME.
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House is on the TV: Good omen +5 for Cary Grant, Cary Grant comedy, Cary Grant with Myrna Loy, and Cary Grant + Myra Loy+comedy = one of my favourite movies and an extra point just cause.
Last but not least, I actually got up and got to Doing Things before one in the afternoon: Good omen! Before noon on Sunday is the very, very best time to go to the grocery store in these here parts, because everyone's at church and it's hardly crowded at all, I am just rarely able to manage it.
And the word "omen" now looks weird. Omen omen omen omen omen omen omen.
