The problem with being a very slow waker-upper is that I'm never really geared up to get anything done until three-four hours after I get up. Now when I have to be at work, I can mostly auto-pilot that part of the day - my job does not require a great deal of brain power or fine manipulation. And honestly, I'm an evening/night person anyway

But on Sundays, when I get up after eleven, that means I'm sort of stumbling around [mentally and physically] until early or late afternoon, which means that I don't even get started on things like housework or laundry or various errands until one at the earliest, and if I spend the wake-up time watching TV or movies, I can very easily get sucked into those for far too long. Today that timesuck was the awesomeness of season two Jericho.

Anyhow, so it's eight in the p.m., and in the last three hours I've run around like a crazy person going to the grocery store, cleaning, cooking and doing other random House Administration things. Part of the cooking will be my lunches at work all week; that's the chicken curry, and I make it often enough that it's pretty easy and stress-free.

But then I got this urge to make daal and naan, which I have never done before, so I had three different things going at one time [plus the rice cooker], the very small kitchen looks like something exploded all over, which I can't stand, no matter how unavoidable it is, I have one skillion dirty dishes which I washed [some of them three times] while everything else was going on, and I also HAD to mop the floor because it was driving me nuts. And the naan still has to do its second rising before I can even cook [bake?] it.

If I could just make myself start earlier....:)

me, very important update, food
